Free California Estate Planning Tools

Reviewed by Rozsa Gyene, California attorney. Last reviewed October 2026.

These free tools answer the questions California families ask most before they make a trust: what probate would cost, whether an estate is small enough to skip it, what happens to property taxes and capital gains when children inherit, and what to do with each asset once a trust is signed. Each one runs in your browser, needs no account, and shows the date its figures were last checked.

Ask the Attorney

Did not find your answer? Send a short question about a California living trust, will, deed or probate. It goes to the Law Offices of Rozsa Gyene in Burbank, and the office replies by email on business days. A reply is general information, not legal advice about your situation.

Do not send confidential information. Sending a question does not make you a client and does not create an attorney-client relationship, so what you write is not protected as a client communication. Describe the situation in general terms, for example "my mother's house is in her name alone", and leave out account numbers, Social Security numbers, health details and anything you would not want someone else to read.

Please do not include confidential details. Submitting a question does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Only if you would like a call back.

Keep Your Home Out of Probate

An attorney-prepared living trust is $400 for one person or $500 for a married couple. Moving your home into it takes a deed, which we prepare for $100 per property.
